Running Specialist Saucony once again strikes back with the highly anticipated Collab with Italian institution Antonioli Inner. Paying homage to the retailers’ hometown Milan, the infamous Grid 9000 silhouette reflects one of its most famous monuments:
The Duomo di Milano(Cathedral of Milan).
No one less than Milan’s very own Matteo Teruzzi was in charge for the design and he excelled himself once again. The suede upper comes in shades of beige and grey while details like the asymmetric “Saucony-S” are held in gold and green. Teruzzi here was referring to the golden Madonnina Statue on one side and the oxidised Entrance Door to the Cathedral on the other side of the shoe.
That being said, the right shoe looks different than the left one but together form a unity. With the speckled white sole reflecting the smooth but uneven façade of the dome, every decisive characteristic of this historic site was considered and applied to the shoe.
A really promising Grid 9000 with a beautiful story behind it. We are excited and can’t wait for the official release on the 4th of November. If you want to get your hands on this special project, watch this space at midnight 00:01h.
